Pinner as seen by Local Artists

As we say each year you don't have to live in Pinner or even nearby to enjoy some of its picturesque scenes and its village atmosphere. This year our detachable postcards are a fascinating combination of reproductions of paintings, pastels, sketches and altered images contributed by very talented local artists. We are most grateful for their support.

Ainsley Harriott and Terry Farr You don't need to have experienced some of the wonderful food served at Friends Restaurant in Pinner High Street to appreciate some of the fabulous recipes from our very own celebrity chef, Terry Farr. This year we are honoured to include a recipe from Terry's long time friend Ainsley Harriott.

This Charity Calendar gives you a taster of both. It's been put together by the team at Frustrated Communication with a great deal of help from Terry Farr and the local print and design company - WD&P.

The calendar has 12 detachable postcards - images of Pinner created by Local Artists - paintings, sketches and altered images plus on the reverse of each month is a fabulous recipe mostly by Terry Farr with one BBQ recipe from Ainsley Harriot.

Most artists' media are familiar to the rest of us, even those of us who would find it difficult to put down on paper or canvas what we have in our mind's eye, let alone what we see with our own eyes. The term "altered image" is perhaps less well known. It has become more popular with digital photography and involves the manipulation of an image or images. We feature three such altered images in this calendar, which will make you think, at the very least. You might say this is modern, modern art.

Eight of the 12 postcards are from members of the Pinner Sketch Club. The club and it's members have been incredibly supportive whilst we worked to put this calendar together.

The calendar can be purchased at Friends Restaurant and at a number of local shops. See the separate page on this site for details.

You may also like to read a little more information on the postcards and the artists who created the works of art and very kindly let us reproduce them to raise money to support our local work.
